Using the Contacts Section and Booking Appointments with Pets

Overview

The Contacts tab is where you can manage client and pet information. Each client has one or more pets listed, and one designated primary pet.

Currently, FurFlow allows only one pet per appointment by default. If a family has multiple pets, there is a simple workaround to manually create a multi-pet booking.


Viewing Contact Details

To view contact details:

  1. Navigate to the Contacts tab.

  2. Select a client from the list.

  3. You'll see:

    • Owner information (first and last name)

    • Primary Pet and Primary Breed

    • A list of pets under the contact (Pet 1, Pet 2, Pet 3, Pet 4)

By default, the Primary Pet/Breed fields mirror Pet 1's information. These fields are used in the Appointment Title when booking.


How the Appointment Title Works

When you book an appointment, the system auto-generates the appointment title using:

  • Owner’s first name

  • Primary pet’s name

  • Breed

  • Service name

For example:
Anthony – Prince (Border Collie) – Large Tidy Up

This helps you quickly identify appointments in your calendar.


Switching the Primary Pet

To book an appointment for a different pet (e.g. Pet 2), update the tag to reflect that pet:

  1. Scroll to the Tags section within the contact record.

  2. Search for and apply the Pet 2 tag.

  3. Once applied, the Primary Pet and Primary Breed fields will update to reflect Pet 2’s information (e.g. name, breed, weight, etc.).

  4. When you book a new appointment, it will now pull data from this updated primary pet.

This process works the same for Pet 3 or Pet 4 tags.


Booking Multiple Pets in One Appointment (Workaround)

If a client is bringing multiple dogs at once, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Calendars > click Add Appointment.

  2. Choose your service (e.g. Large Breed De-shedding).

  3. In the Appointment Title, manually type in both pet names and the service, e.g.
     Astro & Prince – Large De-shed

  4. Under the Time slot, switch to the Custom tab.

  5. Choose a longer time (e.g. 3.5 hours) to allow for multiple pets.

  6. Click Book Appointment.

This workaround gives flexibility while the platform continues development on multi-pet booking support.


Summary

  • Each appointment pulls data from the Primary Pet fields.

  • Use tags (Pet 1–4) to switch the primary pet.

  • For families with multiple pets, use a manual title and custom time slot.

  • More features are in development to make this process even easier.
